First anniversary rally of Gunns withdrawal from RPDC

TAP is holding a huge rally outside Gunns head office in Launceston to mark the first anniversary of Gunns withdrawal from the RPDC.

This historic event commemorates the collusion of big business and government in Tasmania. The media will be present.

Tell your friends about this important event.

Speaker: pulp mill expert and former RPDC panellist, Dr Warwick Raverty - always "says it how it is".

Where: lawns outside Gunns head office in Lindsay St, Launceston near the Charles Street Bridge.

Training Workshop in Peaceful Community Protesting

Training in Peaceful Community Protest against the pulp mill is designed to make sure that you feel safe and comfortable in stressful situations of confrontation with angry people in authority. It also helps to ensure that you are clear on your legal rights and obligations.

Peaceful Community Protest Training is an essential step in ensuring protestors remain peaceful, calm and fully aware of the consequences.

ANZ Launceston Branch Protest

Where Gather outside Princess Theatre 57 Brisbane at 12noon before moving onto the ANZ Launceston Branch, 69 Brisbane street for 12.15 start.

Why Gunns are yet to secure funding for the pulp mill. According to Gunns latest half yearly report they are still looking to ANZ to be the lead banker for the pulp mill. TAP will remind ANZ that Tasmanian have not given "social approval" for ANZ to fund the Gunns pulp mill.

The potential economic development opportunities are being discussed eg the Pulp Mill.

LILYDALE PUBLIC MEETING
Start: 6:30 pm

Public Meeting at Lilydale Community Hall Tuesday night (April 8) 7.30pm to discuss increasing public concerns over the potential sale of another significant Lilydale farming property to a "Forestry Enterprise" for the use of an industrial plantation comprising of Eucalyptus Nitens.

The farm in question is adjacent to a certified organic farm and also slopes onto a creek which communicates with the main waterway supplying Lilydales town water supply.

Public concerns centre around numerous issues including impacts on Town water supply and other local business. The Planning application is with Launceston City Council.
