Federal Government Intervention?

I've just read a news article (AAP) stating the intervention by Canberra to keep the Devonport hospital open, despite the Tas. state government's decision to downgrade it.
The most interesting part was as follows.
"He (Mr. Howard) said the Federal Government only intervened in areas where state or territory governments had not fulfilled their obligations and local communities felt let down or where a patiently tried co-operative approach had clearly failed."
With the election coming up, the P.M. will be bending over backwards to get votes any way he can, so why not take advantage of this and lobby Canberra unmercifully for intervention against the pulp mill (and against the loss of our democratic rights!) Get those letters off to the P.M., folks - or perhaps TAP could arrange for another of those great petitions, or a representation to Canberra for us.
