Gunns vineyard strategy?

Letter to the editor
Dear Sir

Why have Gunns, a company not particularly fond of producing a diverse product, bought up so many vineyards in the Tamar Valley, since the PulpMill proposal? Is it, to prove that the effects will be minimal, or are they expecting massive compensation claims from vineyards affected by the pollution caused by the Mill? A clever strategy really, propose a PulpMill, buy up all businesses that would be affected, cheaply and if it doesn't go ahead, you still win because you bought at bargain prices. In the mean time, you've reduced opposition to the mill and, if it does go ahead, you've reduced compensation claims against youself. How green is our valley -Not!
