Labor politicians have stomped all over the due processes in this State

Dear Harry,

I am a Kiwi but have lived in your electorate for the past eighteen years. This is the first time I have written to a Federal Member, I am not against looking for new industries for our state and I have two grandchildren here, who should they decide to look for work on the mainland I would surely miss them. Yes we do need some types of industry for our workers.

However I am concerned that the state parliament have closed down the official Planning procedure the RPDC. If this was good enough for the older generation then why should this process be changed. I'm sure you are aware of the implications of the Chlorine Dioxins and low catchment for Launceston Water, as well as the river pollution debate.

Alas I fear that the proper and scientific debate is being trodden on by your colleagues in this State. To be frank I am sorry to see a person, who has won the deepest respect from all parties in his constituent leave as our representative. I heard this was your year in Canberra and I wish you well in your retirement.

As a retired business analyst / project manager, who worked hard mainly on the mainland and New Zealand, but always spent my earnings here at home here in Tasmania.

I feel saddened at the way your fellow Labor politicians have stomped all over the due processes in this State, and mark you the Liberal party are no better. I feel the chill of that former premier Robin Gray (who is a board member of Gunn's) and who still seems to have influence somewhere in this state.

Have a happy retirement and thanks for all the good work you did in Franklin.

Yours sincerely
Paul Audcent
