15-May-Smoky-haze
15 May 2008. ‘Thick smoke in morning. Smoke caused allergy headaches. Afternoon haze reduced mountain visibility. Air was too smoky to go outside. Only silhouette of Launceston was visible- - although the sky above the smoke was blue. No wood fires were burning as the day was warm, but nevertheless the sun was red from smoke when it set. 24 forestry fires were lit on this day.’ Allen.
