Water Rally Saturday, 11am to 1pm 3rd March organised by TAP

Join the crowds of landlubbers and boaties on Saturday March 3rd at Kings Park, Paterson St, Launceston and in the Cataract Gorge. Join others in showing your concerns over the impacts of the proposed Tamar valley pulp mill and its wood supply on our water supplies. If you are a confirmed landlubber, then come along to Kings Park, for the land part of the rally and hear guest speakers Peter Cundall, geohydrologist David Leaman, Janie Finlay and others. Boaties can join lots of others on the water in small craft in the Cataract Gorge. Bring your boat and help create an amazing spectacle of the Gorge filled with small boats of all types: tinnies, canoes/kayaks, rubber duckies, half cabins, row boats, small sail boats; in fact anything that can float. The boaties will then move down to Kings Park to hear the speeches. Sydney to Hobart kayaker and anti-pulp mill campaigner, Simeon Michaels, is expected to arrive in time for the rally after paddling across Bass Strait.
